FIBC Bags – Heavy-Duty Bulk Packaging for Industrial Materials

FIBC Bags – Heavy-Duty Bulk Packaging for Industrial Materials

An FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container), also known as a bulk bag, jumbo bag, or ton bag, is a large, flexible, and durable container made from woven polypropylene fabric. It is designed for transporting and storing dry bulk materials, such as sand, cement, grain, chemicals, and construction aggregates. FIBC bags are widely used in industrial packaging because of their high load capacity, low weight, and reusability. They are equipped with lifting loops and can be easily handled by forklifts or cranes.

What Is an FIBC Bag?

An FIBC bag (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container), also known as a bulk bag, jumbo bag, or big bag, is a large, flexible woven container used for storing and transporting dry, flowable materials such as sand, gravel, powders, granules, and agricultural products. Made from woven polypropylene (PP), FIBCs are designed for handling by forklifts or cranes.

They are widely used in industries such as construction, agriculture, chemicals, mining, and logistics.

Key Technical Specifications:

  • Material: Woven polypropylene (PP)

  • Load Capacity: 500–2000 kg

  • Safety Factor: Commonly 5:1 or 6:1

  • Size: Customizable (e.g., 90×90×110 cm)

  • Filling & Discharge Options: Top spout, bottom spout, duffle top, flat bottom

  • Coating: With or without PE liner for moisture protection

  • UV Resistance: Optional UV-treated fabric

Application Areas

FIBC bags are used globally across many industries due to their versatility and cost-effectiveness:

Construction Industry: For transporting sand, gravel, cement, and debris.

Agriculture: Used to store and transport grains, seeds, animal feed, and fertilizers.

Chemical & Mineral Industry: To package powders, resins, and granules.

Food Industry: For bulk handling of flour, sugar, starch, and food additives (with food-grade liners).

Mining & Metallurgy: Storage of metal ore, coal, and tailings

Waste Management: Ideal for contaminated soil, asbestos, and industrial waste

The multi-layer woven structure has excellent tear resistance, can stably carry heavy materials, resist friction and impact during transportation, and ensure the integrity of materials. The standardized lifting design cooperates with forklift/crane operations to achieve rapid loading and unloading and storage of large-volume materials, greatly improving the efficiency of warehousing and logistics.

The durable material supports multiple reuses, reduces the cost of a single operation, reduces packaging waste, and meets the needs of sustainable engineering. The moisture-proof and UV-resistant properties ensure stability in outdoor storage, and the lining coating can be customized to meet the protection needs of special materials such as dust and seepage.
